What is a TYPE-C USB?

Posted by

Type-C USB is a new kind of USB connection, i.e. a port and a plug.

There are USB A and B plug, the former being the most recognisable as the type of port fitted to many PCs, Macs and Laptops.

To accommodate the small designs of tablets and phones, mini and micro versions of these USB connections were introduced.

Ever tried to plug your USB cable in the wrong way into your phone or tablet, well the new TYPE-C USB connection will stop this from happening.

With these ports and plugs it does not matter which you you plug it in, bit like an earphone jack. This is great for when I am trying to plug my phone in to charge in the dark at night so as not to wake up my wife.

Integral have created a new OTG (On-The-Go) USB Flash Drive incorporating TYPE-C. OTG Drives have two USB Ports, the regular type A for you computer and the smaller version for the tablet and phone, ideal for transferring or saving data from or to, Android devices. But this new version is for the latest Android devices using this latest TYPE-C USB port.

Available in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB capacities, click to view and buy.
